The Gospel of Matthew 5 Verses 13 thru 16
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. 16 Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.”
In Matthew 5:13-16, we encounter a profound reminder of our purpose as followers of Christ. In these verses, Jesus declares that His disciples are the "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world." Salt, an essential preservative and flavor-enhancer, symbolizes the transformative power that believers wield in a world often overshadowed by darkness and despair. When we submit our lives to the Will of God and accept Christ as our Savior, we not only experience the profound change within ourselves but also become instruments of His grace, influencing our surroundings with hope and love.
Embracing this calling means recognizing that our lives should shine brightly like a city on a hill—visible and unmistakable to all. This "Light of Salvation" reflects our faith, emanating love and goodwill to those we encounter. It serves as a beacon, guiding others toward the eternal promise of life in Christ. Our actions, words, and attitudes should mirror the truth of the Gospel, drawing others into the warmth of God’s presence.
As we navigate the complexities of life, we are assured that our light will never flicker out; rather, it will illuminate the path to peace and purpose. In a world that often feels chaotic, our steadfast faith stands as a testament to the transformative power of God's love. By living authentically and sharing our faith, we inspire others to seek that same light and find solace in the arms of Christ.
Indeed, when we allow the Light of Salvation to shine through us, we embody the essence of Christ’s message. Let us therefore embrace our role as beacons of love, faith, and hope, illuminating the way for others on their journey to eternal life in Him. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Your Light Must Shine Before Others**
In shadows where the weary tread,
We are the salt, our purpose spread,
To flavor life with love so bold,
As Christ's own tale of grace unfolds.
Like cities shining on the height,
We bear the truth, we share the light;
In every heart, let faith take flight,
A beacon bright in darkest night.
With every act of kindness shown,
The seeds of hope are gently sown,
Reflecting love in all we do,
Our hearts ablaze with His love true.
So let your light before them shine,
A glimpse of heaven, love divine;
For in our lives, His promise glows,
Eternal peace that freely flows. Amen.
