The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 14 Verses 34 thru 36

34 After making the crossing, they came to land at Gennesaret. 35 When the men of that place recognized him, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought to him all those who were sick 36 and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak, and as many as touched it were healed.

In Matthew 14:34-36, we witness the profound impact of faith and the transformative power of Jesus' presence. As Jesus arrives in Gennesaret, the people recognize Him and rush to spread the word about His miraculous abilities. They bring the sick and afflicted, believing that merely touching the hem of His garment can lead to healing. This scene beautifully illustrates that deep faith transcends all understanding; a theme echoed throughout scripture. The simplicity and purity of their belief allows them to experience the fullness of His Divine Grace, which is available to anyone who seeks Him.

Such faith is not contingent upon elaborate theological frameworks or profound understanding; rather, it is rooted in a heartfelt reliance on Christ. When we confess Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we open ourselves up to the depth of His grace, which can heal not only physical ailments but also spiritual and emotional wounds. This grace is a gift for all, regardless of our circumstances, failures, or doubts.

The act of reaching out—whether through prayer, worship, or simply a yearning spirit—becomes a transformative connection to His power. Just as those in Gennesaret instinctively recognized the healing potential in Christ, we too are invited to cultivate a faith that boldly trusts in His promises. In moments of despair, doubt, or desperation, let us remind ourselves that healing often begins with a mere thought of His presence. As we reflect on these verses, may we remember that deep faith welcomes His grace into our lives, illuminating our paths and offering restoration. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

08-06-2025 Matthew 14 v3436

**They Begged Him to Touch Only His Tassel**

In Gennesaret, the shores alive,

Where whispers of His presence strive,

The weary souls, in faith they tread,

To touch the hem where grace is spread.

With desperate hands and hearts of hope,

They press in close, with fervent scope,

For just one brush with healing light,

A spark of faith to end their plight.

Oh, Lord, our Savior, hear our plea,

As we confess, we wander free;

In Your embrace, we find our place,

Transcending all, through Your sweet grace. Amen.
