The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 11 Verses 20 thru 24
20 Then (Jesus) began to reproach the towns where most of his mighty deeds had been done, since they had not repented. 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. 23 And as for you, Capernaum: ‘Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the netherworld.’ For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
In Matthew 11:20-24, Jesus addresses the towns where He performed most of His miracles, yet the people remained unrepentant. He denounces Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum, contrasting their rejection of Him with the judgment that cities like Tyre and Sidon would have imposed upon themselves if they had witnessed the same miracles. Jesus emphasizes the gravity of their disbelief by stating that it will be more bearable for these ancient cities on the day of judgment than for those who ignored His works and teachings.
This passage challenges believers and non-believers alike to reflect on their response to Jesus' message. It reveals a profound truth about accountability and the consequences of rejecting divine revelation. The miracles performed by Jesus were not mere spectacles; they were testimonies of His identity as the Messiah and, through them, an invitation to embrace faith and repentance. To witness such power and still turn away speaks to a hardened heart and a missed opportunity for grace.
What stands out here is the theme of judgment based on revelation received. The more one knows of Christ and His truth, the greater the responsibility to respond in faith. Therefore, it prompts us to ask: Are we heeding the call to repentance and recognizing the magnitude of our spiritual need?
As we reflect on this passage, I urge you to consider your own heart. Are you open to the transformative power of Christ in your life? Will you be exalted to heaven, or will you stand among those who, having witnessed His goodness and chose to turn away? The choice is yours, and the consequences are eternal. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
07-15-2025 Matthew 11 v2024
**Will You Be Exalted to Heaven**
In cities where the miracles shone bright,
Chorazin and Bethsaida turned from the light,
With mighty works, the truth laid bare,
Yet hearts grew cold, unyielding in despair.
Capernaum, once blessed, now stands condemned,
For knowing His name, yet refusing to bend,
Jesus weeps for the lost, in sadness each day,
At what could have been, if they'd learned to pray.
Tyre and Sidon, in shadows once steeped,
Would have embraced the grace that they’d seek,
Yet here stands the warning, a call to repent,
For hearts tethered tightly to pride's firmament.
Awake, O people, hear the Savior’s plea,
Respond to His mercy, let your spirits be free,
For judgment awaits those who hear yet refrain,
Will you rise to the heavens or linger to Hell in pain? Amen.
