The Gospel of Luke Chapter 18 Verse 35 thru 43

35 Now as he approached Jericho a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging, 36 and hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what was happening. 37 They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” 38 He shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” 39 The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me!” 40 Then Jesus stopped and ordered that he be brought to him; and when he came near, Jesus asked him,41 “What do you want me to do for you?” He replied, “Lord, please let me see.” 42 Jesus told him, “Have sight; your faith has saved you.” 43 He immediately received his sight and followed him, giving glory to God. When they saw this, all the people gave praise to God.

In Luke 18:35-43, we encounter a powerful moment where Jesus demonstrates His compassion and mercy. As Jesus approaches Jericho, a blind man begs for help, crying out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Despite the crowd’s attempts to silence him, the man persists, undeterred by their rebuke. His faith and desperation capture Jesus’ attention.

Jesus stops and asks the blind man, “What do you want me to do for you?” This profound question invites an honest response. The man replies, “Lord, I want to see.” This request is met with immediate and miraculous fulfillment; Jesus tells him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” Instantly, the man’s sight is restored, and he follows Jesus, praising God.

This passage reminds us that Jesus responds to our cries for help with compassion. Just as the blind man surrendered his fear and doubt, seeking Jesus wholeheartedly, we too are called to surrender our burdens and desires to Him. When we relinquish control and submit to His will, we open our hearts to experience the profound joy of salvation.

Jesus invites us into a relationship where our needs and struggles can be laid at His feet. By surrendering our lives to His purpose, we find not only healing but also a sense of belonging in His eternal love. The joy that follows such surrender is beyond comprehension, illuminating our souls with the promise of Life Eternal.

As we reflect on this passage, let it inspire us to cry out to Jesus in our own moments of need. Remember, He has pity on those who seek Him earnestly. Trust in His grace, and let that surrender bring you the joy of salvation in your heart and soul. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Ephesians 6:17-20

11-17-2025 Luke 18 v3543

**Son of David Have Pity On Me**

In Jericho’s shadow, a cry took flight,

A blind man in darkness, seeking the light.

With gentle persistence, he called out with grace,

“O Jesus, Son of David, see the look on my face!”

The crowd was unyielding, they hurried him by,

Yet hope burned within him, he wouldn’t comply.

He shouted the louder, his heart filled with plea,

For in that great moment, his soul longed to see.

Then Jesus stood still, his heart you could hear,

“Bring him to me now,” He commanded, “be near.”

With faith unwavering, he rose to his fate,

A life interrupted, but never too late.

“What do you desire?” The Savior inquired,

The blind man, with courage, his wish he inspired.

“Rabbi, I long to recover my sight,

To see all creation and bask in the light.”

“Your faith has restored you,” the Master proclaimed,

In an instant he saw, and his heart was untamed.

He followed in joy, giving thanks for his cure,

A life transformed wholly, forever secure. Amen.
