The Gospel of Luke Chapter 17 Verse One thru Six

1 He said to his disciples, “Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person through whom they occur. 2 It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. 3 Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, ‘I am sorry,’ you should forgive him.”5 And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”6 The Lord replied, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to [this] mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”

In Luke 17:1-6, Jesus addresses the important themes of temptation, forgiveness, and faith. He begins by warning us about causing others to stumble, reminding us of our responsibility to be careful with our actions and the influence we have on those around us. The call to forgive is central, as Jesus tells His followers that if someone repents, they must forgive them—no matter how many times they fall. This radical approach to forgiveness emphasizes the boundless grace we are called to extend.

Reflecting on these verses, I am reminded of my own journey of repentance. Like everyone, I have made mistakes and have experienced the weight of my past. Yet, through sincere repentance, I have sought forgiveness from those I have wronged. I understand the courage it takes to admit our failings and the humility required to seek restoration. Just as I have been offered forgiveness, I stand ready to forgive anyone who acknowledges their errors and seeks to make amends.

Forgiveness is not always easy; it can be a profound challenge, especially when deep hurt is involved. However, the strength drawn from understanding our shared humanity can inspire us to let go of grievances. Just as Jesus taught, the act of forgiving transforms both the giver and the recipient, leading not only to healing but also to the building of stronger relationships rooted in love and empathy.

As we navigate our lives, let us embody the willingness to forgive, reflecting the grace we ourselves have received. There's immense power in reconciliation and unity, serving as a testament to the redeeming love that can overcome even the darkest pasts. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day 2 for the repose of the Soul of Edgar Bruce. RIP In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

11-10-2025 Luke 17 v0106

**If He Repents Forgive Him**

In days of old, the Teacher spoke,

Of stumbling stones, a warning woke,

“Be watchful when temptation’s near,

For hearts can falter, drown in fear.

To lead astray, a heavy cost,

Better to bear the weight than be lost,

A millstone’s tie around the neck,

To mislead others brings great wreck.

Forgiveness flows like rivers wide,

If a brother falls, do not deride,

Seven times he may err each day,

Yet still, for grace, we must display.

A flick of faith, a tiny seed,

Can move the mountains, meet the need,

With trust in God, what can we do?

The impossible blooms forever in view.

So heed the words, and let them guide,

In love and mercy, we abide,

For in the struggle, lend a hand,

In faith united, we shall stand. Amen.
