The Book of Matthew 13 v- One thru Nine

1 On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea. 2 Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd stood along the shore.3 And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, 6 and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. 7 Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. 8 But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.9 Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

In the sacred parable of the sower, Jesus speaks of seeds scattered on varied soils, symbolizing the reception of His Word in the hearts of humanity. This parable finds a profound connection with the doctrine of the True Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, where Christ Himself becomes the seed sown within us.

When Jesus, the divine sower, offers His Body and Blood in the Eucharist, He plants a seed of His very self into our souls. Like the seeds in the parable, the Eucharist requires fertile ground to yield its full potential. The Eucharistic seed falls on different types of spiritual soil within us, mirroring the varied responses to the Word of God.

For some, the Eucharist lands on the path, symbolizing a heart unprepared to receive such a sacred gift. Distractions and doubts, akin to the birds that snatch away the seeds, prevent the Eucharistic presence from taking root.

In others, the seed falls on rocky ground. These hearts receive the Eucharist with initial joy, but without deep roots in faith and understanding, the presence of Christ withers in the face of life's trials and tribulations.

Some receive the Eucharist among thorns. These hearts are entangled with worldly concerns and the deceit of riches. The true presence of Jesus is choked, unable to flourish amidst competing priorities and distractions.

Yet, there are those whose hearts are like the good soil. These faithful souls, nourished by the Eucharist, allow Christ's presence to take deep root. The grace received germinates, yielding a bountiful harvest of virtue and spiritual fruitfulness, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundredfold.

In the Eucharist, Jesus continually sows Himself into our lives. The parable of the sower calls us to prepare our hearts, making them fertile ground where the True Presence can grow, transform, and bear abundant fruit in our journey of faith. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

07-24-2024 Matthew 13 V-0109

**Sowing the Seeds of His True Presence**

By the sea, a Teacher stood,

To share a truth, both pure and good.

A sower went out with seeds to cast,

A story of hearts, a lesson to last.

Some seeds fell upon the path so wide,

Birds swooped down, with nowhere to hide.

The Word received, but not understood,

Stolen away before it could.

Other seeds on rocky ground fell,

Sprouting fast, but not so well.

Without deep roots, they withered in strife,

When trials came, they lost their life.

Among the thorns, some seeds found earth,

Growing entangled, of little worth.

Choked by cares and wealth's deceit,

They bore no fruit, a promise incomplete.

But some seeds fell on fertile ground,

Roots dug deep, and hope was found.

Yielding thirty, sixty, even more,

A harvest rich, an abundant store. Amen.
